One of President Michael D. Higgins' beloved dogs has commanded attention in a new behind-the-scenes video shared online.
The Irish President’s puppy, believed to be his Bernese mountain dog Misneach, is seen begging for attention in the sweet clip, while his owner tries to focus on his interview with broadcaster RTE on Sunday.
President Higgins was paying tribute to his friend, the Irish actor Tom Hickey, whose death was announced the previous day.
But unsatisfied with the lack of attention, the puppy playfully paws at his owner’s clothes and sniffs his fingers throughout the interview.
The moment was shared online by the President’s team.
The footage has been viewed more than 29,000 times on Instagram, with social media users eager to share their delight with the clip.
