BMC to use 5-star hotels to treat mild Covid cases amid bed crunch in private hospitals
  • 3 years ago
In a move to free hospital beds, the BMC is planning to acquire rooms in four-star and five-star hotels to shift Covid-19 patients who have recovered in Covid hospitals and no longer need critical care.

Patients in these hotel rooms will be managed professionally by staff from major Covid hospitals and their health will be monitored constantly.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has named a few five-star and four-star hotels to be used for the treatment of mild coronavirus patients who do not need critical care. The BMC has named the Intercontinental, and Trident Hotel at Marine Drive and the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) as step-down Covid facilities.
