Michael Steele on today’s GOP: “One big grift”

Where is the Republican Party headed post-Trump? Former Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele says the party is “all over the map.” “It has no central moorings, no foundational idea,” Steele said on “Salon Talks.” “It has no platform that we can put out in front of the country and say this is what we philosophically orient towards.”

While Steele calls the party a “hodgepodge of whatever Donald Trump feels on the day he wakes up” that he believes is bound to break, he has yet to make a decision on whether he is staying or leaving.

Watch the full episode above to hear more about the conversations Steele is having around rebuilding the party and why more Americans are open to the idea of expanding and broadening the two-party system.
