Tamil Nadu polls: After Sasikala steps aside, TTV Dhinakaran takes up mantle
  • 3 years ago
Earlier this month, former Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa's confidante and expelled party chief VK Sasikala announced that she is retiring from active politics.

Releasing a statement, Sasikala said she will "she will stay away from politics," but would pray for the "golden rule" of Amma.

After Sasikala stepped aside, her nephew TTV Dhinakaran has taken up the mantle. The ruling AIADMK's rival Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) is now leading the “third front” with his alliance partners DMDK and AIMIM.
