West Bengal first phase voting of the assembly polls today. This is one of the most talked-about state polls in recent years, with the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress striving hard to retain her home turf and Prime Minister Narendra-led BJP emerging as a strong challenger in the eastern state. While Banerjee will aim for a hat-trick, the BJP that has made strong inroads, is leaving no stone unturned to make sure that the lotus blooms in West Bengal.

बंगाल विधानसभा चुनाव के पहले चरण का मतदान अभूतपूर्व सुरक्षा के बीच आज शुरू हो गया है। सूबे के पांच जिलों बांकुड़ा, पुरुलिया, झारग्राम, पूर्व और पश्चिम मेदिनीपुर की 30 सीटों के लिए वोट डाले जा रहे हैं. बांकुड़ा जिले की 4, पश्चिम मेदिनीपुर की 6, झाड़ग्राम की 4, पूर्व मेदिनीपुर की 7 और पुरुलिया की 9 सीटों के लिए सुबह 7.00 बजे से शाम 6.30 बजे तक मतदान होगा. पहले चरण के 30 में से सात निर्वाचन क्षेत्रों को संवेदनशील घोषित किया गया है।
