Tejashwi Yadav Calls For Bihar Bandh On March 26 To Protest Manhandling Of Legislators In Assembly

Effects of ‘Bihar Bandh’ is being witnessed across the state. Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav announced 'Bihar Bandh' on March 26 in protest against forceful eviction of opposition MLAs from the assembly when they were agitating against the police bill in the state. Since March 26 morning, supporters have been blocking roads in protest. People on the road are protesting & shouting slogans against the government. Mahua MLA Mukesh Roshan is leading this bandh. Apart from the RJD, left parties & the Congress are also supporting the bandh. The bill aims to develop the Bihar Military Police (BMP) into a well-trained & fully equipped armed police force with multi-domain expertise to cater to the development needs & the larger interest of the state. On March 23, unprecedented chaos was witnessed in the legislative assembly when the grand alliance MLAs assembled together in the speaker's chamber taking him hostage. Opposition members were caught on camera laying siege of the speaker's chamber & some of them being bodily evicted by the police & marshals later.
