Doctor Rameshwar Prasad Yadav and his wife Tarawati lost their daughter, Hemlata, when she was just six months old in 1976. Forty years later, while driving to Churi, his village in Rajasthan, they saw four girls standing in pouring rain and offered them a lift. The couple learnt that the college students had to trudge for many kilometres before reaching the bus stop. The doctor took Rs 17 lakh from his provident fund — 75% of the total — added Rs 2 lakh from his savings and bought a bus, which provides free rides to the girls of Churi and nearby villages.

भारत में दूर दराज इलाकों में कई ऐसे गांव हैं, जहां ट्रासपोर्ट की सेवा अभी तक नहीं पहुंच पाई है. आज भी वहां लोग पैदल ही चलकर घंटों सफर तय करते हैं. राजस्थान में भी ऐसा ही एक गांव है जहां ट्रासपोर्ट की सेवा नहीं है। और यहां गांव और आस-पास की लड़कियां पैदल ही स्कूल-कॉलेज जाती हैं । राजस्थान का ये गांव है कोटपुतली । तो ऐसे में जब ये बात एक 61 वर्षीय डॉक्टर को पता चली तो उन्होंने केवल छात्राओं के लिए अपने पीएफ का पैसा निकाला और उनके लिए बस का इंतजाम कर दिया।
