Malaysiakini CEO Premesh Chandran arrived at the Palace of Justice in Putrajaya today to present a cheque worth RM500,000 to settle a fine for the same amount for contempt of court in relation to the news portal's readers' comments.

This comes after the Federal Court handed down the fine during proceedings last Friday.

Malaysiakini had exceeded its RM500,000 fundraising target in under five hours on the day the campaign was launched.
