Bihar Quarantine Centre Inmates Dance To ‘Sandese Aate Hai To Lift Spirits Amid COVID-19 Pandemic

A video of residents at a quarantine centre in Bihar dancing yet maintaining social distancing has gone viral. Standing in neat rows, inmates can be seen dancing to 'Sandese Aate Hai' from the 1997 film Border. The activity was conducted to lift spirits and cheer up the residents of the Juafar quarantine centre in Siwan, Bihar as they stay isolated from their families. Standing in five rows, inmates followed an instructor performing to the same song onstage. The 30-second video was shared on Twitter by Uttar Pradesh police officer Rahul Srivastav, who praised the ‘Covidance’. The gesture is winning hearts on social media. Reportedly, over 22 lakh migrant workers have returned to Bihar through special Shramik trains. As per estimates of the Bihar government, around 10 lakh people have also returned on foot & shared vehicles. The number of COVID-19 cases in Bihar stands at 4155 with 24 deaths as India crosses the 2 lakh mark.
