England skipper Joe Root has finished ahead of Virat Kohli in the ICC Men's Test Player Rankings, for the first time since November 2017. Root is now 36 points behind top-ranked Kane Williamson (919) and trails second-placed Steve Smith by eight points. The 30-year-old Englishman's 218 in the first Test against India in Chennai, has helped him advance two places to the third spot.
