Donald Trump's impeachment trial 2.0 begins

In a historic first, Donald Trump has become the only president in US history to go on an impeachment trial after leaving office. He had already become the sole president to be impeached twice by the House of Representatives last month. Now the US Senate has begun a trial to determine if he should be convicted. Mr. Trump faces the charge of "incitement of insurrection" in a speech given to his supporters before they stormed the US Capitol on January 6.
