India’s vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane has said that his job as Virat Kohli’s deputy becomes easier with the captain around. While it was under Rahane that India won the historic Gabba Test last month and also won the Test series 2-1, the 32-year-old has no problem with transitioning from vice-captain to being Kohli’s deputy. “See, my job is to take a backseat and try help Virat. As a captain, too many things are there on a captain’s mind so as vice-captain, you will have to visualise the situation and think about what can happen in the game. And then, if the captain asks you for some suggestions you should be ready,” Rahane told reporters on Wednesday.
