In a major shock ahead of the assembly polls, Tamil nationalist party Naam Tamilar Katchi had braced up for the intra-party political storm after some of the party's senior leaders including Rajiv Gandhi, who was one of Seeman's commanders, had switched side and joined the party's arch-rival DMK, leaving the party and its leader Seeman with trouble over addressing the emergence of the tussle within the party.
Rajiv Gandhi was one of the key leaders of the party who had served as the youth-wing secretary of Naam Tamilar Katchi. He has also appeared in several debate shows defending Seeman's Tamil Nationalist party and its propaganda and Rajiv Gandhi had been a staunch critic of the Dravidian parties and the Central parties and had strongly pressed that Naam Tamilar Katchi would be a replacement for the decades-old Dravidian houses.
