Injuries took a huge toll on the Indian team during the Test series against Australia, with a number of first-choice players missing multiple matches. Ravindra Jadeja, who had fractured his thumb in the third Test of the series in Sydney, was expected to be fit in time for the England Tests but has reportedly been ruled out. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the Indian squad for the first two Tests against England the same day where Ajinkya Rahane & Co. registered a historic Test series win in Brisbane.

टीम इंडिया के लिए बुरी खबर है. रविन्द्र जडेजा टीम इंडिया से बाहर हो गए हैं. चोट के कारण टीम इंडिया के लिए इंग्लैंड के खिलाफ टेस्ट सीरिज खेल नहीं पाएंगे रविन्द्र जडेजा. इस बात की पुष्टि हो गयी है. और इंग्लैंड के लिए अच्छी बात है. इंग्लैंड का खेमा खुश ही होगा. जबकि भारत के लिए नींद उड़ाने वाली खबर है. इसके पीछे की बड़ी वजह ये है कि जडेजा पिछले दो सालों से अपने करियर के सबसे शानदार फॉर्म से गुजर रहे हैं. पर ऑस्ट्रेलिया दौरे पर हैमस्ट्रिंग के कारण भी वो कुछ मैचों से बाहर हो गए थे. बाद में टेस्ट में आए. तो फिर थम्ब इंजरी की वजह से बाहर हो गए. दिलचस्प बात ये है कि दोनों मर्तबा मिचेल स्टार्क की ही गेंद उन्हें लगी थी. इंडियन एक्सप्रेस की एक रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, BCCI से जुड़े एक सूत्र ने जानकारी दी है कि फिलहाल यह साफ है कि जडेजा इंग्लैंड के खिलाफ टेस्ट सीरीज के लिए उपलब्ध नहीं हो पाएंगे.
