Farmers’ Protest: Modi Government Offers To Suspend Laws For 1.5 Years, Farmers To Consider Offer

The government is ready to put the three controversial farm laws on freeze for one-and-half years & will convey it to the Supreme Court in an affidavit. The farmer unions, who attended the 10th round of negotiations on January 20, said they would consider the proposal. Farmer leaders did not immediately accept the proposal, saying they would hold internal consultations first. The government, they said, has become unnerved by their plans for a big tractor rally on Republic Day. The farm laws were put on hold for at least two months by the top Court in an order last week.
