India has been ranked the fourth most powerful military power in the world. According to the Global Fire Power Index 2021, India's military strength is second only to that of the US, Russia, and China. Rival neighbour Pakistan ranks 10th on the list. The report also gives details which can provide a comparison between the militaries of China, Pakistan, and India. While India has retained its position in the top five militaries in the world, Pakistan made it to the top 10 last year.

भारतीय सेना दुनिया की चौथी सबसे ताकतवर सेना है. ये हम नहीं कह रहे हैं बल्कि दुनिया के ताकतवर सेनाओं की लिस्ट जारी की है अंतराष्ट्रीय एजेंसी ग्लोबल फायरपावर ने इस सूची में 133 देशों को शामिल किया गया था जिसमें भारत चौथे स्थान पर है, जबकि अमेरिका की सेना को दुनिया की सबसे ताकतवर सेना बताया गया है. इस लिस्ट में रूस दूसरे स्थान पर और चीन को तीसरे स्थान पर है.
