Trump: Capitol infiltrators 'defiled seat of American democracy...and will pay'

"Serving as your president has been the honor of my lifetime," Donald Trump says in a video posted to Twitter, a day after lawmakers certified Joe Biden's victory in the November 3rd election. In his message, Trump calls for "tempers to be cooled and calm restored" following unprecedented scenes of violence on Wednesday at the US Capitol.
"The demonstrators who infiltrated the Capitol have defiled the seat of American democracy," he says and adds, "those who broke the law will pay."
