Biden rips Trump, vows to defend democracy on Capitol riot anniversary

US President Joe Biden savages his predecessor Donald Trump's "big lie" and attempts to overturn his 2020 election defeat, vowing on the first anniversary of the January 6 Capitol riot he will let no one put a "dagger at the throat of democracy." Members of the House of Representatives hold a moment of silence for the officers who died defending the building that day.
