Russia has banned senior German officials from entering the country,... in an expansion of its travel ban on the EU.
The move is retaliation for EU sanctions on Moscow.
In October, the bloc imposed sanctions against the head of Russia’s military intelligence and one other individual,...accusing them of stealing the German Chancellor's emails,... in a hacking attack on the German parliament.
Chancellor Angela Merkel said there was "hard evidence" of the cyberattack.
Russia had denied the allegations,... calling them a political campaign to introduce unilateral sanctions,... and that Germany denied its request for a joint investigation.
