Bengal govt promotes IPS officer pulled up by MHA over attack on Nadda's convoy

The West Bengal government on Monday promoted one of the three IPS officers who had been pulled up by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) over the recent attack on BJP national president JP Nadda's convoy near Diamond Harbour area in the state. Inspector-General of Police (South Bengal) Rajeev Kumar has been elevated to the post of Additional Director General of Police (South Bengal), while the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Diamond Harbour, Bholanath Pandey, has been transferred as SP, Home Guard.
