Trinamool rebel leader Shubhendu Adhikari resigned as MLA after party MP Saugata Rai accused him of a variety of charges. Senior TMC leader Saugata Roy says Shubhendu Adhikari wanted to become the next leader of the party after Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Roy also said that the authorities wanted control over five-six districts of the state. He claimed that the officials wanted to become the Chief Minister of West Bengal or deputy CM.

तृणमूल कांग्रेस के बागी नेता शुभेंदु अधिकारी के विधायक पद से इस्तीफा देने के बाद पार्टी सांसद सौगत राय ने उन पर कई तरह के आरोप लगाए। टीएमसी के वरिष्ठ नेता सौगत राय का कहना है कि शुभेंदु अधिकारी मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी के बाद पार्टी के अगले नेता बनना चाहते थे। साथ ही रॉय ने कहा कि अधिकारी राज्य के पांच-छह जिलों पर कंट्रोल चाहते थे। उन्होंने दावा किया कि अधिकारी पश्चिम बंगाल के मुख्यमंत्री या फिर डिप्टी सीएम बनना चाहते थे।
