On one hand, while many countries of the world are struggling with the lack of clean drinking water, the technology of making drinking water from the air has been devised in India. Scientists from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati have prepared such a substance, with the help of which drinking water can be made from moist air. According to this study, published in the Journal of Royal Society, hydrophobicity techniques have been used to make water from the air.

एक तरफ जहां दुनिया के कई देश पीने के साफ पानी की कमी से जूझ रहे हैं, वहीं भारत में हवा से पीने का पानी बनाने की तकनीक ईजाद कर ली गई है. इंडियन इंस्टिट्यूट ऑफ टेक्नोलॉजी, गुवाहाटी के वैज्ञानिकों ने ऐसा पदार्थ तैयार किया है, जिसकी मदद से नम हवा में से पीने का पानी बनाया जा सकता है.
जर्नल ऑफ रॉयल सोसाइटी में छपी इस स्टडी के मुताबिक हवा से पानी बनाने के लिए हायड्रोफोबिसिटी तकनीक का इस्तेमाल किया गया है.
