Plan for mass testing of school children in Covid hotspots
  • 3 years ago
Health Secretary Matt Hancock has announced that secondary pupils in areas of London, Kent and Essex with growing coronavirus rates are to have access to testing. He told a Downing Street briefing he is "particularly concerned about the number of cases in London, Kent and Essex" adding that "by far the fastest rise is among secondary school age children 11-18 years old". The Health Secretary said the danger of this is "that a sharp rise in case in younger people can lead to a rise among more vulnerable age groups later." Report by Thomasl.
