Soraya Shahidy is no regular tattoo artist. She is the first female tattoo artist in Afghanistan, an Islamic country where women often face discrimination and where many people consider skin tattoos to be sinful. Shahidy trained to become a body artist while living as a refugee in Iran and Turkey.
