Biden says his new foreign policy team will "re-imagine" American foreign policy

"America is back."
That's what U.S. President-elect Joe Biden declared Tuesday while introducing some of his Cabinet picks.
He pledged to shift the U.S. from the Trump administration's "America First" policies by re-engaging with the international community.

Declaring that "America is back,"... U.S. President-elect Joe Biden on Tuesday officially introduced the key members of his Cabinet for key national security and foreign policy roles.
He emphasized they will "re-imagine American foreign policy,"... adding they will also contribute to America intensifying its alliance with countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
"Together, these public servants will restore America globally, its global leadership and its moral leadership, and will ensure that our service members, diplomats and intelligence professionals can do their job free of politics. They'll not only repair, they'll also reimagine American foreign policy and national security for the next generation. And they'll tell me what I need to know, not what I want to know, what I need to know."
Antony Blinken,... Biden's pick for Secretary of State,... whom he described as one of his closest and most trusted advisers,... has long highlighted the importance of international cooperation when it comes to resolving global issues.
As for John Kerry, named Washington's first climate change envoy,... Biden explained that there's no person he trusts more when it comes to tackling the issue.
The introductions came as the U.S. General Services Administration ascertained Monday that Biden was the apparent winner of the November 3rd presidential election,... giving him and his team the green light to prepare for a power transition.
This gives Biden and his team access to officials at federal agencies,... and directs the Justice Department to work on security clearances for transition team members.
Saying he was pleased with the progress made so far,... Biden expressed hope his nominees would be swiftly confirmed.
