S. Korean gov't joins CEPI to help future vaccine research

정부, 코로나 백신 지원 '감염병혁신연합' 가입…300만달러 기여

To support future vaccine research and development, South Korea has joined the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Initiative.
Seoul's foreign ministry says the government joined the global organization via a virtual meeting on Tuesday and pledged to donate 3 million U.S. dollars each year until 2022.
CEPI has funded research projects to have vaccines prepared for diseases like MERS and SARS.
With the donation to CEPI, South Korea has donated a total of 21 million dollars to epidemic prevention programs this year.
