Maharashtra Politics: Devendra Fadnavis Takes Charge As Chief Minister, Supreme Court To Give Order Tomorrow
  • 3 years ago
Devendra Fadnavis & Ajit Pawar took charge in Maharashtra today. They won another day to rally numbers as the Supreme Court, after almost 1.5 hours of hearing said it would declare its decision tomorrow. The centre argued that governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari invited Fadnavis to form govt based on a letter showing support of 170 MLAs including 54 of Ajit Pawar’s NCP. On the other side, the Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress submitted documents claiming support of 154 MLAs. The Shiv Sena, Congress & NCP filed a plea in the top court challenging the manner in which Fadnavis was sworn in along with NCP's Ajit Pawar as his deputy at 7.50 am on Saturday after President's Rule was revoked at 5.47 am.
