Coronavirus’s spread across 127 countries is having a far-reaching impact -- from sporting events being cancelled to stock sell-off across various international bourses. India’s stock markets – BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty saw a rout with trading being halter for 45 minutes during early trade on March 13. But the two bourses recovered to close on a positive note. The sentiment was similar across markets in Japan, South Korea and Hong Kong. The sell-off in Asian markets follow the Dow Jones witnessing its worst day in over 30 years.
