There are around 71 oil wells were digged by ONGC in Kathiramangalam, Nanilam, Neduvasal and other part of cauvery delta. None of the hydrocarbon exploratory or production well of the ONGC in the seven Delta districts has valid Consent to Operate from the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board.
