Jaswant Singh, Former Union Minister And BJP Veteran, Dies Aged 82 After Cardiac Arrest

Jaswant Singh, who served as India’s Defence, Finance and Foreign Minister has died aged 82. Singh died today at 6:55 AM after a cardiac arrest at Delhi's Army Hospital (Research & Referral) where he was admitted since June. A statement by the hospital said, “Despite the best efforts of the attending team of specialists to resuscitate him, he could not be revived and passed away at 0655 hours on 27 Sep 2020. His COVID status is negative.” Jaswant Singh first served in the Indian Army followed by a career in politics. He was one of India’s longest serving parliamentarians, having been elected to the Lok Sabha four times (1990, 1991, 1996, 2009) and the Rajya Sabha five times (1980, 1986, 1998, 1999, 2004).
