According to national newspaper Haberler, the incident was captured on camera by customers queuing up in a bakery in the Sandıklı district of the city of Afyonkarahisar. in the western Turkish province of Afyon. The footage shows the scraggly cat inside the glass display standing on top of various pastries, whilst in nibbles on some below, looking furtively around as it does so. The people filming make noises to call the cat and laugh at the surprising scene, The business name has not been disclosed, but the video received negative backlash after being posted on Twitter from disgusted customers highlighting the hygiene risk. The video comes after a similar event when a mouse was filmed crawling over the desserts in a pastry shop in İstanbul recently. There is no further information as to whether the employees of the bakery removed the cat or whether the incident was officially reported.
