After former Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey announced his decision to withdraw from the Bihar polls, the JD(U) leader extended support to the NDA alliance in the state saying that he was 'always available for the government.' "There was some reason that's why it couldn't be possible, but I am with NDA. I am always available for our government," he said.

बिहार विधानसभा चुनाव में वीआरएस लेकर राजनीति में आने वाले पूर्व डीजीपी और जेडीयू के नेता गुप्तेश्वर पांडेय टिकट नहीं मिलने के बाद पहली बार मीडिया के सामने आए. मिडिया से बात करते हुए गुप्तेश्वर पांडेय ने बिहार विधान सभा में बक्सर से टिकट नहीं मिलने पर लग रही अटकलों को खारिज कर दिया. उन्होंने कहा कि राजनीति में कभी-कभी ऐसा होता है कि जैसा आप सोचते हैं वैसा नहीं होता. मैं पार्टी का सजग सिपाही हूं.
