Despite uncertainty following U.S. President Trump's COVID-19 diagnosis, South Korean markets got off to a stable start on Monday.
After five days off for the Chuseok holiday, the country's two major stock markets opened similar to last Tuesday's close, with the benchmark KOSPI opening at 2-thousand-3-hundred-30-point-5-5,... up zero-point-1-1 percent.
The KOSDAQ also opened point-zero-six percent higher.
This is contrary to the U.S. stock markets, which all saw a drop on Friday following Trump's diagnosis.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed on Friday down point-4-8 percent and the NASDAQ dipped 2-point-2-2 percent.
