In a bid to encourage women to drive, a car rally was organised by an NGO in collaboration with Srinagar Traffic Police here to bust myths related to female drivers. Sheikh Saba, a participant said that the rally is being held to inspire men to respect female drivers. “The motive of this rally is to bust the myth that women are not the best drivers. People say women don’t drive well. But if we can run houses, offices then why can’t we drive vehicles? This rally is to show them to respect women drivers,”

नारी की अगर बात की जाए तो वो किसी भी क्षेत्र में खुद को साबित कर रही हैं। लेकिन अतीत में ऐसा नहीं था। न वो पढ़ पाती थीं न नौकरी कर पाती थीं और न ही उन्हें वोट डालने की आजादी थी। इतना ही नहीं आज भी महिलाओं से जुडे कई मिथक हैं जिन्हें वो लगातार तोड़ रही हैं। ऐसा ही एक मिथक है आपने भी सुना होगा कि महिलाए अच्छी ड्राइवर नहीं होती। लेकिन जब आज की महिलाएं राफेल जैसे लड़ाकू विमान की पायलट हो सकती हैं तो फिर उनके सामने सड़कों पर चलने वाली गाड़ी क्या चीज है। महिलाओं को वाहन चलाने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए, एक एनजीओ ने श्रीनगर ट्रैफिक पुलिस के सहयोग से एक कार रैली का आयोजन किया।
