Millions of Chinese people hit the road as China started its first major holiday since coronavirus infections were brought under control in the country. Time-lapse videos showed crowds of travellers filling railway stations in Beijing and Shanghai on October 1, 2020, in stark contrast to the empty terminals seen earlier in the year during rolling lockdowns which continue in many other places around the world.
