Millions of Chinese tourists travelling abroad over ‘golden week’ holiday

An estimated 7.5 million Chinese have headed abroad for the nation’s “golden week” holiday that began on China’s National Day on October 1, 2019, according to state media reports. Many of the Chinese tourists are taking vacations in Thailand, where a relaxed visa policy has increased the appeal of the Southeast Asian which had recently seen a decline in visitors from China.
