FITA denies tobacco tax evasion allegations

A 20-year feud between local tobacco producers and multinationals drags on. That's according to former SARS executive, Johann van Loggerenberg, author of the book "Tobacco Wars". Now, the Fair Trade Independent Tobacco Association is probing one of its own members - Gold Leaf Tobacco. This after Tax Justice South Africa raised concerns that Gold Leaf may not be paying all of its taxes.
