Sub-Inspector of Police Shantappa Jadammanavar, apart from his usual police duties, has been donning the hat of a teacher. Every morning at 7 am, Shantappa takes a detour to teach roughly 30 kids at a migrant worker settlement in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. He engages the students in Vedic mathematics, general knowledge, and value education for about an hour, before heading for duty at around 8.30 am. The sub-inspector, who hails from the Ballari district, works at the Annapoorneshwari Nagar police station in the city.

देशभर में कोरोना वायरस लॉकडाउन के चलते लोगों के जीवन पर खासा असर पड़ा है। वहीं सबसे बड़ी चिंता है हमारा भविष्य यानि कि बच्चे। जिनकी पढ़ाई बुरी तरह प्रभावित हुई है। कोरोना के चलते सभी स्कूल बंद है। फिलहाल सभी बच्चों को ऑनलाइन शिक्षा दी जा रही है। लेकिन इनमें से कई ऐसे बच्चे हैं जिनके पास ऑनलाइन पढ़ने की सुविधा तक नहीं। जैसे ऑनलाइन पढ़ने के लिए इंटरनेट, मोबाइल, लेपटॉप जैसी चीजों की आवश्यकता है लेकिन कई बच्चों के पास ये सब नहीं है। ऐसे बच्चों के मसीहा बने हैं सब-इंस्पेक्टर शांथप्पा।
