At long last, the return of migrant workers to their home states is underway. It is indeed a big relief to them. But it is not the end of the story as far as they are concerned. In fact, it is just the beginning as far as their home states go. After
they have returned to their homes, their states will have to work out plans for their livelihood. There is a strong possibility that the ordeal that the migrant labourers have undergone for more than a month may deter them from returning to work in non-native states for a long time.

कोरोना लॉकडाउन के बाद वैसे तो तमाम राज्यों के प्रवासी लोग अपने घर वापस जा रहे हैं. लेकिन सबसे ज्यादा प्रवासी मजदूर यूपी और बिहार अपने घरों की ओर लौट रहे हैं. लाखों के तादाद में लौट रहे इन मजूदरों से दोनों राज्यों में संसाधनों पर तो दबाव बढ़ ही रहा है उसके साथ नेताओं के धड़कनें भी बढ़ रही है. खासकर बिहार में, क्योंकि बिहार में इसी साल के अंत में चुनाव होने वाला है, जबकि उत्तर प्रदेश में 2022 में चुनाव होंगे. और माना जा रहा है कि इस बार दोनों राज्यों में होने वाले विधानसभा चुनावों में प्रवासी मजदूर निर्णायक भूमिका में होंगे. यही वजह है कि दोनो में राज्यों में खुद को प्रवासी मजदूरों का हितैषी बताने में होड़ चल रही है.
