Sun bear cub with crippled leg rescued after getting lost in jungles of Indonesia

A sun bear cub with a deformed hind leg was rescued in the forests of Indonesia and cared for at a conservation centre.

This footage taken in the Riau Natural Resources Conservation Center, Pekanbaru, Riau Province on August 26, shows the cub, which had become separated from its mother, being cared for.

The head of the local conservation agency, Suharyono, stated: "A male Indonesian Sun Bear (Helarctos malayanus), aged about two months, was found found in a paralysed state, the bear's hind legs cannot be used.

"Officers rescued this bear in a forest in Indragiri Hulu Regency, Riau Province."
