Powerful typhoon Koppu has made landfall near the town of Casiguran in Aurora Province, Philippines at 1.00am on Sunday destroying homes and displacing 10,000 and whipping up coastal surges four metres high. The heavy rain caused floods damaging roads and bridges and toppled power and communication lines.
