Amid warnings of a possible second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, South Korea's Ministry of Education has announced that it will provide free influenza vaccinations to all elementary, middle and high school students nationwide.
This is to prevent confusion between students with influenza and COVID-19 as both have similar symptoms.
Vaccinations will begin with high school students in late September followed by middle school students in early October and those in elementary school in late October.
Other efforts to contain COVID-19 include a plan to supply schools with over 23 million U.S. dollars worth of masks and hand sanitizers in the second semester.
