Independence day 2020: Mahatma Gandhi की वो यात्रा जिसने लिख दी बदलाव की इबारत | वनइंडिया हिंदी

On 12 March 1930, Gandhi and 80 satyagrahis, many of whom were from scheduled castes, set out on foot for the coastal village of Dandi, Gujarat The village was over 390 kilometres from their starting point at Sabarmati Ashram. Through a series of laws, the Indian populace was prohibited from producing or selling salt independently, and instead Indians were required to buy expensive, heavily taxed salt that often was imported. Gandhi's 24-day march lasted from 12 March 1930 to 6 April 1930 as a direct action campaign of tax resistance and non-violent protest against the British salt monopoly.

12 मार्च 1930 को गांधी जी ने नमक विरोधी कानून के विरोध में दांडी मार्च अर्थात् दांडी यात्रा निकाली थी। ये यात्रा अहमदाबाद के साबरमती आश्रम से समुद्रतटीय गांव दांडी तक 78 व्यक्तियों के साथ पैदल निकाली गई। इसे नमक मार्च और दांडी सत्याग्रह भी कहा जाता है। ये अंग्रेजों द्वारा लागू नमक कानून के विरुद्ध सविनय कानून को भंग करने का कार्यक्रम था। अंग्रेजों ने नमक का उत्पादन और बेचने पर भारी कर लगा दिया था। नमक जीवन के लिए आवश्यक वस्तु होने से इस कर को हटाने के लिये गांधी जी ने ये सत्याग्रह चलाया।
