Motorcycle rider crashes and skids towards oncoming car while frantically trying to avoid being hit

A motorcycle rider who skidded on a wet road and fell in front of an oncoming car - frantically trying to push himself away from the wheels.
The baseball cap wearing man was coming round a bend on a mountain highway in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand, when he lost control.
Storm Sinlaku had been lashing the region with heavy rain for several days and the roads were soaked on Wednesday (Aug 5) afternoon.
Dashcam footage shows how the rider slammed into the ground and skidded towards the car.
However, he managed to scrape frantically at the ground to slow down the momentum and push himself away from the path of the wheels.
He then clambered to his feet with a broad smile and laughed off the terrifying brush with death.
The driver, who did not want to be named, said: "I was shocked when I saw the rider skidding towards me on the road. Luckily I was able to stop my vehicle and there was no other car following behind either of us. If I had left home a second earlier, I would have ran over him.''
The rider stood up and checked his body for injuries but he escaped with only minor scratches. He apologised to the driver for the accident, but there was no damage to the car so they both carried on with their journeys.
