Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm has filled two vacancies on the Michigan Court of Appeals.
Cynthia Stephens of Detroit was appointed to the appeals court for the state's 1st District and is replacing Judge Helene White, who was recently appointed a federal judge.
Douglas Shapiro of Ann Arbor was appointed to the appeals court for the 3rd District and is replacing Judge Michael Smolenski, who has resigned.
Both their terms will expire January 1st, 2011.
