On November 9 last year, the Supreme Court ruled on the temple-mosque dispute in Ayodhya after a long hearing. The constitution bench headed by the then Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi ruled that the dispute over the disputed land belonged to Hindus. Along with this, the government also ordered that 5 acres of land be given separately to the Muslim side.

अयोध्या मसले पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट के फैसले में कहा गया है कि भारतीय पुरातत्व विभाग की रिपोर्ट में लिखा है कि नीचे मंदिर था. प्रधान न्यायाधीश रंजन गोगोई ने कहा कि ASI ने भी विवादित जमीन पर पहले मंदिर होने के सबूत पेश किए हैं. हिंदू अयोध्या को राम जन्मस्थल मानते हैं. उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि ASI यह नहीं बता पाया कि मंदिर गिराकर मस्जिद बनाई गई थी. इस सवाल का जवाब नहीं मिल पाया कि क्या मंदिर को गिराकर मस्जिद बनाई गई थी.
