Apple faces US$1.4 bil. lawsuit by Chinese AI firm in Siri patent fight

A Chinese artificial intelligence company has filed a patent-infringement lawsuit against Apple.
Shanghai Zhizhen Network Technology, also known as (shhow-eye) Xiao-i, ...announced on Monday that it is suing Apple in a Shanghai court for one-point-43 billion U.S. dollars in damages.
It argues that Apple's voice-recognition technology (sear-ree)Siri, which was introduced in 2011, infringes on a patent it was granted in 2009.
It demands that Apple stops the sale, production and use of its products that infringe on the patent, ...which include the majority of Apple's products.
(shhow-eye) Xiao-i first sued Apple for patent infringement in 2012 regarding (sear-ree)Siri, ...in which China's Supreme Court ruled that the Chinese firm's patent was valid.
