The former Pope Benedict the Sixteenth is reported to be "seriously ill".
A German newspaper cited Benedict's biographer, who said the 93-year-old has fallen ill from a facial infection since his trip to Germany in June, to see his ailing brother who died last month.
The biographer said Benedict's voice is "barely audible" and he's "extremely frail".
But the Vatican, responding to the report, said on Monday that Benedict's condition is "not particularly worrying".
Benedict was elected to the papacy in 2005, but resigned after 8 years, becoming the first pontiff in 6 hundred years to resign, instead of ruling for life.
He was succeeded by Pope Francis.
