LG Chem sees record-high operating profits in Q2

One of South Korea's leading makers of batteries for electric vehicles LG Chem has seen record-high profits amid the pandemic.
The company says operating profits in the second quarter came to about four-hundred-80 million U.S. dollars,... more than double the same period last year.
That's thanks in large part to its plant in Poland achieving stability and cutting costs.
Sales were up 25 percent from the quarter before as the company shipped more EV batteries to Europe and China, where environmental regulations are stricter.
LG Chem says it expects a good performance in the next quarter as well with the launch of new EV models in Europe.
