Saifuddin Soz detention: Congress leader tries to leave house, cops intervene
  • 4 years ago
A controversy erupted over the detention of Congress leader Saifuddin Soz, who is currently under house arrest in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar district.

Soz was allegedly put under house arrest after the Centre had revoked various provisions of Article 370 of the Constitution which had granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

Many political leaders including former chief ministers Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti were arrested and put under house detention in August last year following the abrogation of Article 370.
